The choice of venue fell on the Free City in Freistadt, an office building of the next generation. With an area of 6,000 m², Free City sets new standards in sustainable construction and state-of-the-art energy technology. The building is completely free of fossil fuels and has a 2,000 m² photovoltaic system as well as innovative energy storage solutions. These features make the Free City a flagship project in climate-friendly construction.
Diverse topics and practical discussions
This year, the focus was once again on current challenges and trends in the tiling industry. Among other things, the following topics were dealt with in depth:
- Outdoor area and terrace slabs: Experts from Elitile and GS presented innovative solutions and new products.
- Façade and sealing systems: New developments in façade design and tried-and-tested sealing methods were discussed.
- Damage prevention and structural challenges: Using concrete case studies, common construction defects were analysed and proven solutions presented.
- Bathroom and sanitary technology: Innovations in shower channels, gradients and structural waterproofing.
- Efficient planning and calculation: Strategies for cost optimisation and economic project implementation were highlighted.
Successful dialogue and lasting impetus
The Technical Conference 2025 not only offered participants valuable specialist knowledge, but also the opportunity to exchange ideas with industry colleagues and experts. The modern Free City venue in Freistadt provided the perfect setting for this and emphasised the hfw group's commitment to innovation and sustainable construction methods.
